Marc Earnshaw is an IT Consultant from Yorkshire. He had a history of Henoch-Schonlein Purpura (HSP) which was treated with steroid medication. He was then diagnosed with Avascular Necrosis which made a Birmingham Hip Resurfacing an unsuitable treatment option, resulting in him being recommended the Birmingham Mid Head Resection prosthesis (BMHR) as an alternative conservative treatment option.

Linda has a history of allergic reactions to metal and underwent a metal allergy test following her initial consultation. The results showed that she was positive to Nickel and she was recommended a ceramic on ceramic hip resurfacing, making her the first person to have an implant of this kind inserted. She is a very active person with a black belt in karate. Here she is interviewed at 2 months post op.

Paul had a McMinn Resurfacing carried out by Mr McMinn in 1991. Following the initial operation he was regularly walking 30 miles each week and in addition playing golf 3 times a week. After 17 years of usage from his McMinn resurfacing he required revision surgery. Paul had such good quality bone at the stage of revision surgery that Mr McMinn was able to revise the McMinn Resurfacing to a Birmingham Hip Resurfacing.
