Which hospital will I have surgery at?

Mr McMinn exclusively performs all his surgical procedures at the BMI Edgbaston Hospital, this is the same hospital where Mr McMinn holds consultations. It is a private hospital and is located in Edgbaston, Birmingham, it has three operating theatres. The hospital has 55 in-patients rooms all of which offer comfort, privacy and en-suite facilities.

Are doctors and nurses available 24/7 should I need them?

Yes, Mr McMinn’s specialist expertise is supported by caring and professional medical staff, with dedicated nursing teams and Resident Medical Officers on duty 24 hours a day, providing care within a friendly and comfortable environment.

Can I get an en-suite room?

Yes, all 55 of the private hospital rooms at the BMI Edgbaston offer en-suite facilities.

Will I have TV, Phone & Internet?

Yes, each room has its own television, including satellite channels, its own phone with dedicated private number for incoming calls and access to the internet via free wi-fi.

Will my spouse/family/friend be able to stay in the room?

Unfortunately not, spouses, partners, family and friends are not permitted to stay overnight at the hospital however they are welcome to visit you at anytime during the day. There are numerous local hotels in the nearby area that can offer excellent rates for those wishing to stay near the hospital.

Is there a canteen/cafe for family to eat at?

Yes, there is a canteen at the BMI Edgbaston hospital for family and friends to use should they want to. As an in-patient of Mr McMinns, meals are delivered to your room by the room service team.

Are there car parking facilities at the hospital?

Yes, the hospital has a large free of charge car-park. Although you won't be able to drive home after being discharged you can rest assured knowing friends and family can visit without being charged for parking.

How do I pay for surgery with Mr McMinn? Is finance available?

There are a number of ways in which you can pay for surgery. If you are medically insured and would like your insurance provider to cover the cost of your surgery this is easily arranged. With medical insurance the amounts allowable by each different insurance company vary greatly and patients are encouraged to discuss their particular situation with Mr McMinn's administrative staff by emailing .

For non-insured patients BMI Edgbaston hospital offers a 'Fixed Price' packages for each of Mr McMinn’s surgical treatment options and this price covers everything including hospital, drugs, anaesthesia and surgery during the in-patient stay. This amount will be confirmed by BMI Edgbaston Hospital following your pre-operative assessment, usually carried out 1-2 weeks before surgery. Please note that pre-operative and post-operative consultations and x-rays are payable separately.

The hospital is easily accessible using public transport. The hospital is close to major road, rail and air travel networks. Birmingham New Street is the main train station for the city and the hospital is only a short taxi journey away from there. Birmingham International Airport is just 10 miles from the hospital with taxi, train and bus services all available. Birmingham, situated in the heart of the UK has excellent links to major roads and motorways.
